Marija Jelic, soprano is born on 23th of February 1993 in Belgrade, Republic of Serbia. After finishing Mathematical Gymnasium and High Music School "Kosta Manojlovic" for flute and solo singing, she finished Faculty of Electrical engineering at University of Belgrade and continued to learn singing from primadonna Jasmina Trumbetas Petrovic who is soprano singer at National Theater in Belgrade and Opera Director at National Theater in Belgrade. In 2017 Marija passed audition for opera studio in National Theater in Belgrade and started to singing small and main roles in opera productions: Mozart: Le nozze di Figaro (Barbarina, La Contessa), Verdi: Il Trovatore (Ines), Puccini: Boheme (Mimi), Bizet: Carmen (Micaela), Puccini: Turandot (Liu), Leoncavallo Pagliacci (Nedda), Verdi Otello(Desdemona), Binicki Na Uranku (Stanka).
Marija get lots of awards at national competitions in singing. Furthermore, she was singing in the main halls and concerts in Serbia: Concert La Divina with orchestra Stanislav Binicki at Kolarac Hall, in Belgrade Philharmonic Spring Concert with Chinese Orchestra, Lid Concert of Rachmaninoff songs at Belgrade Summer Festival and lots of concerts in other towns in Serbia. Marija sang at the Last Night Gala Concert in September 2019 at the Castle Opera Festival Wernigerode/Germany. She performed at International Performing Art Center Moscow, Partisian requiem from composer Henning Sommero, gala concert in Sinagoga Novi Sad and Kolarac Belgrade with maestro Emmanuel Plasson, concert in Teatro del Carmine in Sardinia with Italian tenor Dario di Vietri, concert in Saint Petersburg with Saint Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra with conductor Kenichi Shimura, nine concerts with Saint Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra with conductor Darell Ang on tour in China in theaters: National Library Arts Center in Beijing, Zhenjiang Grand Theater, Linyi Snow Lotus Theater, Yincheng Grand Theater, Binzhou Grand Theater, Dongying Grand Theater. On 5th of October in 2020 Marija will have solo recital in Carnegie Hall in New York.
